Joseph M. Mahoney

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Engineering Mechanics from the Pennsylvania State University.  My research is in the field of dynamics, Goal Equivalence Manifolds and Time Series Analysis.  In August 2007, I earned both my Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University.  Additionally, I minored in Mathematics and Engineering Mechanics.  In 2008, I passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam in Pennsylvania and became an "Engineer in Training".

For four semesters, I have been a Teaching Assistant for the Engineering Science and Mechanics Department.  For the previous three semesters, I was a Lab/Teaching Assistant for "Introduction to Engineering Design and Graphics" for freshman engineering students.

The past two summers, I have been an  instructor for "Principles of Engineering Design" for Johns Hopkins' CTY program at Lafayette University.  This past summer, I also privately tutored high school and college students.  Over the four previous summers, I have interned with NASA, PPL, Intel and Air Products and Chemicals.
